Hi,
Thank you for being a More4you Blogletter subscriber. Today
I want to share the latest Questions & Answers section with
you as well as announce the winners of the October 2005
giveaway...

The last months questions:
--------------------------
Last month I asked you to answer a short survey in regard to
optimum frequency of email and getting known on a zero budget.
The results of the survey:
--------------------------
1. How often can I send emails, and what should I send in
order to improve relationships (and sales)? It seems like
there are so many newsletters these days that getting read
and visited is a big enough challenge, not counting making
sales.
(Question submitted by: Gregory Bendickson)
Jefferson Hayford
"I've published print and online newsletters for the past
ten years and now I publish ezines. I've found that
bi-weekly and monthly works the best - unless you have
quality and I mean quality content to offer on a weekly
basis. As far as content goes it needs to be fresh - which
is not difficult these days."
Doug Lipman
"I send my newsletter monthly, but I have two other ways to
send.
When people subscribe to my monthly 'eTips from the
Storytelling Coach' newsletter, Add2it MailResponder Pro
automatically adds them to two other lists: Announcements
and Last-Chance. This allows folks to unsubscribe from
Announcements or Last-Chance separately, without
unsubscribing to eTips.
I send eTips monthly. Seven days later, I send a
'Last-Chance' reminder about the upcoming expiration of the
offer included in eTips.
About once every other month, I also send an 'Announcement'
message, which usually another offer, an opportunity for my
list members, etc.
This seems to allow those who want to be contacted only
once a month to avoid the other emails, while those who
want the others can still get them."
Comments: Very good advise Doug, I myself should switch to
that system of delivering messages.
BTW... Add2it MailResponder Pro is available at:
MailResponderPro.com
Douglas Titchmarsh
"My personal view is that 3 to 4 emails a week is plenty,
but you can get away with more if you have good content.
If you are just sending the latest special offer, 2 a week
is enough to turn people off.
Make your emails informative, and interesting and people
won't mind receiving them, even with a small ad placed
somewhere."
Kristin Wilson :
"2 sales pitches per week is not intruding or interrupting."
Aila Noake
"At the most 2-3 times a week. Good information and
articles."
Rizel Munn :
"Once in a fortnight is enough and it should be more
information or update on subject I signup for."
Randy Gebhardt & Bill Thompson :
"Weekly"
Mark Owens
"I would be willing to accept 2-emails a week, referring to
how to improve marketing techniques and how to motivate
others to sign-up for premium programs."
Comments: As you can see from the last couple of answers...
the opinion of how many messages are ok and how
many are too much goes far appart.
In the end I believe it really only depends on the
value / content of the messages you send. See also
Steve's article size answer below...
Steve Yakim
"You can send emails as often as you want as long as it
contains quality content. There is no substitute for
content. Even if you are sending a solo ad it should
contain quality content. When I say quality I mean some
thing the reader can use and apply. Quality does not
necessarily mean valuable.
For example, you could be stranded on a deserted island and
find a chest full of gold. You know that gold is valuable
but it does not do you any good. What you need is a boat
to get off the island.
So even if you are selling something, give quality content.
I personally send emails when I have something to say. I
do not tie myself down to a schedule of having to have my
newsletter out on a certain day. By giving quality
content, when people see my email they open it because
they know it will contain something the reader can use and
apply to their ebusiness.
Here is the first part of an article I wrote for my
newsletter about the best way to give quality content and
still sell.
1) Present the Problem - All good ad copy, sales letters,
articles, reports, and emails have one thing in common.
They all point out a need that the reader has.
The first thing your content needs to do in educating your
reader is to let them know that they have a need by
presenting the problem.
2) Offer a Solution - Offer a solution to the problem that
you just presented. This will be the meat of the content.
Here is where you win your customer. So give it your best
shot here. You want to give the reader something that
they can immediately use to solve that problem.
3) Make a Suggestion - Here is where the selling part
comes in. The battle is fought in the solution
portion but the battle is won in the suggestion portion.
Here is where you recommend a product or service that
will further solve the problem.
This is where you turn the reader into a customer.
4) Explain the results - This is where you present your
personal testimony on how you benefited from the product
or service. Explain the precise results from using the
recommended product or service.
You are not going to find a better selling point than
results. People buy your products to get results. Not
to own the product. People want results. We are living
in a results driven society. So give them results.
Your not going to win your customer with hype. Your
going to win them with a system.
1) Present the problem
2) Offer a Solution
3) Make a Suggestion
4) Explain the Results
This is a system for success. It is the surest way of
selling more to your list members.
It is not that hard to get noticed. That is what the
subject line of your emails are used for. How many times
have you seen a publisher announce his latest issue of his
ezine like this in the subject line...
Bob's newsletter issue #0947573954732
Boy, that makes me really want to open that email. I get
over 300 emails a day and only read a few. I depend on the
subject line to tell me what I might expect in the email.
What if Bob used a subject line like this...
Increase profits 300% overnight - no extra effort
or this...
10 tips to increase website traffic 400%
These subject lines give you a hint of what you may find
inside the email. After all who does want to increase
profits 300% overnight? Wouldn't you want to see how to
increase traffic by 400%?
Give the people something they can expect to find in the
email by using the subject line. Some people may open
Bob's newsletter issue #0947573954732. But you don't want
some people to open your email. You want everyone to open
your email.
Always personalize the subject line with the person's first
name. Spammers are getting really advanced, but they have
not been able to personalize the email with the person's
name. Personalization will let the reader know your email
isn't spam.
Remember, the purpose of the subject line is not to
announce the latest issue of your newsletter. It is to get
people to open your email.
Remember to use the 4 simple keys to supply quality content
and sell more to your list members."
Comments: Great feedback Steve... I couldn't agree more
and printed it out to pin it up on the wall of my
office as a constant reminder.
2. If you have no money to market, how do you get known?
(Question submitted by: Annette Taylor)
Kristin Wilson :
"Write articles, free advertising in newsletters and on
classified sites. I also am active in a few communities
and forums online. Only the ones I have an interest in.
BTW... Joining a forum or community should not be just to
post ads. People don't trust that, I know I don't.
I will click on someones ad or link when I like what
I've read by them and get to know them."
Comments: I couldn't agree more Kristin.
Once your created your articles... don't forget to
post them for free in the More4you Article
Directory at: more4you.ws/articles/
A very good tool I use personally to post them all
over the net is Ezine Announcer. Yes, it's not
only for ezines, but also for articles.
You can get Ezine Announce at:
add2it.com/see.pl?EzineAnnouncer
I recently wrote the following two tips for long
term success online to a downline team of mine...
1. Have you every written something? An article,
product review or report? Yes? Great...
No? Then please listen carefully... because the
best way for long term success is to write your
own articles, product reviews and / or reports
and publish them in articles directories.
Either way... to get some free publicity I
invite you today to add your old or new
articles, product reviews and / or reports to
the More4you Article Directory at:
more4you.ws/articles/
BTW... even if you have nothing to publish
yet... visit more4you.ws/articles/ today
and get some ideas what to write about
tomorrow... oh, and don't forget to bookmark the
page while you are there.
2. Visit 3 - 6 discussion forums every day and
answer 3 - 6 questions of other people. Do that
every day!
How can that help you build your downline?
Simple... mention your URL in the signature of
the posts. Imagine...
After a week, you have your URL on 63 - 252 web
pages right under your helful answers that show
you are a person that helps others.
After a month, you have your URL on 1,890 -
7,560 web pages. After a year, you have your
URL on 22,680 - 90,720 web pages! Can you see
how that will help build your downline?
Start thinking long term success!
Aila Noake
"Add your signature everywhere you can; forums, blogs, email
etc. And make sure you have a link to your site in your
signature."
Jefferson Hayford
"Persistence. There's no end to free advertising. Tie what
your doing in with the needs of your local community and
the online community and you've struck gold in more ways
than one.
BTW... Support what you love. If all you love is money,
it's a lonely existence. Personally I love
creativity and arts. I've made many friends as well
as many dollars supporting what I love; songwriting,
music and the arts. Put your heart on your sleeve
and your back in your efforts (I'm now physically
disabled and this is a metaphoric reference)
www.songfestivals.com (not for profit
venture) A growing creative community."
Rizel Munn :
"Joint Venture"
Bengt Samuelsson :
"Free advertising, surfing manually."
Comments: You can find a big list of recommended traffic
exchanges in the back office of the free
Home-Income-Team program at:
www.Home-Income-Team.com
Doug Lipman
"First, decide what you want to become known for (in my
case, as a storytelling coach). Second, choose a niche
market to target (e.g. a storytelling coach for oil company
executives). Third, become known as an expert in that
field. How? Write artilces, respond to email lists or on
blogs or bulletin boards. Also, use Google Adwords and
Yahoo Search Marketing to advertise on keywords (e.g.
'executive storytelling'). Start an email newsletter on
the topic."
Douglas Titchmarsh
"Visit forums, answer questions, and start your own email
list. Offer your help to people, be seen at all the free
sites you can, just be seen. I have got to the stage
where some marketers approach me now, purely by being
around forums and by joining in promotions etc.
BTW... Nike says it best, it holds true for online
marketing too, just do it... Have an idea which may
make you some money, research a little, but Just do
it...
The one thing most people forget when they have an
idea is to Just Do It. Take action."
Comments: Right to the point Douglas. See my comments
above.
Mark Owens
"I have always relied on using safe mail lists, free traffic
exchange programs, FFA with web based posting, I don't try
to sell anything just attemp to drive traffic to my sites.
BTW... Building your business takes some time, and
consistant marketing will help keep continued
traffic flowing to your sites. I also use various
marketing tools like lead capture, short e-mails,
autoresponder forms and a good balance of tracking
tools to know whats working and what's not.
I have a free marketing source that's available for
anyone to market anything they wish...
You might be interested in taking a look at this
free marketing system I've been using. It works
really well and it's set up to promote anything
you want to, and earn you commissions.
Email me back and let me know what you thought about
it."
Comments: The free marketing system you recommend, Midas 05',
is in fact excellent to build any program. My team
in Midas reached today 1,584 members.
Steve Yakim
"The first principle you have change your mindset to do is
build a list. There should be nothing more important to
your ebusiness than building your lists. Everything you do
online must is someway build your lists.
Their are 5 rules to remember when building your lists.
I always follow these rules when I build my lists.
1. Build only 100% opt-In lists.
Never and I mean never put anyone one your lists
that did not request to be on your list. That is
called spam and that is a real no, no. Spam will
get you into trouble faster than you can say "what
happened".
There are much better and easier ways to build a
list.
2. Quality is more important than quantity.
Do not be concerned about building a large list in
the beginning. A large list comes with time. You
want to build a list of people that want to be on
your list that want to become participating
partners
You need to give your list members quality
information they can use. Not just theories.
But good quality information they can use right
now. If you give the people on your list good
content they will know you know what you are
talking about.
If you give them good quality information that they
can use, then they may purchase some of you paid
information because they know it will be quality
information they can use.
Which list do you think would make more money if
you wanted to sell a product that comes with
reprint rights?
a. A 500,000 member joke list.
b. A 25,000 member Internet marketing list.
c. A 300 member reprint rights list.
If you think a 500,000 member joke list will get
more sales simply because of the large number,
that's the wrong answer.
If you think a 25,000 member Internet marketing
list will purchase more products because after all
Internet marketing people like to buy products
like this, then you are wrong again.
A 300 member list that wants products with reprint
rights will out sell both of these other lists
simply because they want to know when you come out
with a product with reprint rights so they can buy
it.
You will make much more money from small tightly
targeted lists than you will from any other list
no matter how large that list is.
3. Work toward MULTIPLE tightly targeted lists.
Pay special attention here. This is the big secret
all the gurus are not telling you about list
building.
You want to build many small tightly targeted lists.
I am not talking about a newsletter. Although
some of these people will be receiving your
newsletter because they requested to be on that list.
4. Take your time and do it right.
I work with a lot of people in joint ventures.
Most of the time these people want to throw the
project together as fast as they can so they can
start reaping the profits.
They sometimes do not want to do some of the
tactics that will really boost the outcome of the
project. But if you take your time and do it
right you will find your success will be much
greater and last much longer.
5. Think viral in everything you do.
Viral marketing is a method you can use to make
your projects continue to grow after you stop
your initial marketing launch.
An example of a viral marketing campaign is my
No Cost Advertising and traffic Report Series. It
is designed so that other people can use it to
build their list and earn 7 different streams of
income by just giving the reports away.
It is a great tool to use and many people are using
it. I just launched that report a few weeks ago
and over 1,700 people have downloaded that report.
All I did was send it to my newsletter list.
Again, Everything you do online must in some way build
your lists.
So always think viral!
Now that you know the 5 rules to remember when building
your lists, I want to tell you something that I figured
out early on in my ebusiness that really helped me grow
my lists.
I am going to tell you where the best subscribers are
that you want to get on YOUR lists.
Here is the big secret...
They are already on other peoples lists.
I know what you are thinking. How is knowing that the
best subscribers are on someone else's list going to
help you?
Here is how knowing where these subscribers are will
help you build your lists.
You can use one of the easiest forms of joint ventures
to get these subscribers to join your lists. This
joint venture strategy is called an ad swap.
An ad swap happens when one newsletter publisher
puts your ad in their newsletter and you put their ad in
your newsletter.
Most of the time the ads that are swapped are ads for
products. In other words, one publisher swaps an ad
for a product he is promoting and the other publisher
does the same thing and swaps an ad for the product they
are promoting.
Neither publisher has done anything to build their lists.
Instead of swapping an ad for a product, you will swap an
ad for building a list.
Here is the step - by - step method I used to go from
zero subscribers to over 80,000 subscribers. This is
not theory. This is the actual strategy I used and it
really works well.
I have never revealed this strategy before this...
Step One - Since I did not have a newsletter, I created
"The Magic Money Machine Ezine".
Step Two - I went to Google search and used the following
key words for my search...
pay for subscriber co-registration
I used one of these services to purchase my first 1,000
subscribers. When you purchase these subscribers, they
will probably not be quality subscribers. But that isn't
really important now.
We are going after the subscribers on someone else's list.
Purchase your first subscribers.
Step Three - After I had my 1,000 subscribers, I went
back to Google search and used a different set of key
words for my search...
ezine directories
I found all kinds of ezine directories. I used these
ezine directories to find all the ezines I could that
had around the same number of subscribers that I had
(1,000 subscribers) and were in the same niche as my
newsletter.
I then emailed these ezine publishers proposing an ad
swap with them. I even included my ad, which was for
a Free report and a 7-Day eCourse. This only built my
newsletter list because I hadn't created the script used
in the FREE ePackage.
I had my ad formatted to 65 characters per line and the
entire ad was only 6 lines in length.
Step Four - I published my first issues of my new
ezine.
Along with the content in my first newsletters, which
were other peoples' reports, I had 3 spots for ads.
They were top, middle, and bottom ads.
This allowed me to satisfy 3 ad swaps with one
newsletter. As I received 3 publishers willing to do an
ad swap with me, I sent out another newsletter.
I did not publish my newsletter based on so many times
a month or week. I published when I received 3 ad
swaps. I also included content by publishing other
peoples articles. I just did not have the time to
write all the content myself.
I even made 2 solo ad swaps per month. This was so I
didn't bombard my lists with a bunch of ads.
Step Five - I watched the autoresponder fill up with
new subscribers. I received any where from 50 to 200
subscribers a day. The next week I started the process
all over again with one change.
Instead of looking for newsletters with around 1,000
subscribers, I looked for newsletters with 2,000
subscribers.
This is because I almost doubled my list in the first
week I tried this strategy. Plus I made a few sales
along the way because I used a similar script back then
that I wrote so I could promote affiliate programs and
build my list at the same time.
The tools that I used are still available at...
This is very important...
Whether you use Get The Affiliate Advantage Toolbox like
I did or you use a complete marketing system that I
created at...
You need to use a script that allows you to build your
list while promoting your products, affiliate products,
or reprint rights products. This way you can get paid
to build your lists.
You will find that this strategy really works to build
your list very fast while earning income at the same
time.
When you find something that works, keep doing it.
I hope you have noticed that I applied the 4 Keys to
selling more products...
1) Present the problem
2) Offer a Solution
3) Make a Suggestion
4) Explain the Results"
Comments: Wow... again, great feedback Steve... What
else can I say then excellent work mate.

I meant to send this comment weeks ago, but you how it is …
Who conceived the brilliant[?] notion that the best way to advertise is to conceal what you are advertising?
I am tired of following up mystery ads that turn out to be for something that I have already joined.
Global Domain advertisers seem to take a fiendish delight in hiding this particular light under a bushel.
