We all know that Samir Karnik is a very intense director who is very keen and passionate about his films. But what we didn’t know that he has his eyes set on Bobby Deol and Dwij Yadav since a long time. Bobby Deol and Dwij Yadav were seen together in Nanhe Jaisalmer which was directed by Samir Karnik and now after two years, the same pair will be seen together in Samir’s next film named Vaada Raha.
Vaada Raha is Samir Karnik’s third movie. The movie is an emotional poignant drama with a social message. Vaada Raha is about the character Duke Chawla essayed by Bobby Deol and how his life goes through diverse stages and how he deals with them.
Duke Chawla is an ardent lover who is about to get married to Nalini (Kangna Ranaut). He is also a successful doctor who‘s research on cancer has recently been acknowledged by the American Medical Association. He hangs on to HOPE and in turn gives his patients what most seem to have lost – HOPE.
His life turns hell as one day he meets with an accident and is paralyzed neck down. After this incident Nalini leaves him and his friends are nowhere to be seen. When Duke himself loses all hope, Roshan (Dwij Yadav) a young boy enters his life and brings back the hope which Duke had lost.
After a patriotic, action-packed high on drama movie like Heroes, which forlornly didn’t do well at the Box office, this one seems to be poles apart. The movie was formerly was titled Roshan which was also the character name of Dwij Yadav in the film. But later it changed its name to Vaada Raha. The buzz is that the title was changed as it would help the film market itself better.
Well, Samir didn’t have luck on his side till now as none of his movies have paid dividend to his hard work. Though, Vaada Raha might be considered by the masses as a low budget just another movie, but it has a realistic story to go with it. And the chemistry which Bobby Deol and little Dwij Yadav share on screen was appreciated by the viewers and the critics in Nanhe Jaisalmer. Kangna Ranaut will pull a lot of audience to the theatres, even though she might not be playing the most pivotal character in the movie.
And the latest buzz is that, Samir Karnik’s Vaada Raha will be the curtain raiser at the Norwegian International Film Festival on the 7th of August. Vaada Raha already makes an impression even before releasing and that too at the international platform.
After movies like Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, Nanhe Jaisalmer and Heroes which all bombed at the Box office, Samir Karnik looks positively on this one to get the job done. Vaada Raha has the social message that one should never loose HOPE in life. It seems Samir preaches what he teaches as akin to his film even in his real life he hasn’t lost HOPE on his movies.
