After shooting for many years, I found myself with a Hi-Point firearm, and I didn’t think much of it at the time, until I shot it. After shooting the Hi Point 9mm, I saw the reason that it’s so popular, and then I saw the price and almost fell out of my chair. For the nominal fee of fewer than two hundred dollars, you can purchase a brand new Hi Point firearm or Hi Point Carbine. Made in Ohio, these economic firearms are within the tightest of budget. Considering all the pistols I fired in my life, I didn’t expect too much when I saw the price tag, but I was never so wrong.
The Hi Point gun I was shooting, has no misfires, and no jams after a good thousand rounds, which I can’t say the same about my 1911. Considering the price many people give Hi Point firearms a bad name, but it’s practical and best of all it works. These firearms have had to put up with years of shooters not taking them seriously, and before I actually used it I was one of them. With competition from brands like Glock, HK, & countless others, it’s hard to imagine a how Hi Point firearms managed to remain such a hot seller. With the reliable design it’s become a great American secret. Upon my discovering the Hi Point 9mm pistol, I decided to rummage through the inventory at my work, and checked out a few of the other calibers offered by Hi Point.
The Hi Point Pistol preformed like a fine watch with my experiences, moving and operating in perfect sync. Although Hi Point may have made its name with their Hi Point hand gun, I was shocked to discover the Hi Point carbine. In my experiences having had the pleasure of firing a number of different carbines, I must say that Hi Point carbine have the same kind of pleasant awakening, when I fired it. Being such an affordable carbine, I thought to myself, “this is where the popularity must take a dip”, but once again I couldn’t be more wrong.
After reviewing all of the Hi Point arms at my disposal, and shooting them I made a remarkable conclusion. These tactical firearms performed above my expectations, and best of all they are dirt cheap. In my experiences working for large firearm wholesalers, I can confidently say that we have never had to return Hi Point firearms for mechanical problems, which I would love to be able to say about most of the custom 1911 pistols. The Hi Point pistols also have some of the coolest accessories I’ve seen come out of an actual factory, not some after market mill. The wonderful part is that Hi Point accessories are made for the most part by Hi Point, with the exception of some minor things like Hi Point holsters. But for the most part I believe that this company is well on its way to the up and coming American Pistol, with a price that is left in the dust. There are wide varieties of Hi Point firearms in many different calibers, and configurations listed below.
• 45 ACP (Hi Point Handgun Only)
• 40 S&W (Hi Point Handgun & Carbine)
• 9mm (Hi Point Handgun & Carbine)
• 380 ACP (Hi Point Handgun Only)
