Former Huckabee supporters in huge numbers seem to be poised to back Bob Barr this election year. Disinfranchised with the GOP for turning their back on the Conservative base of the party, many conservatives are now threatening to cross party lines and Vote Libertarian. Now it does seem to make odd bed fellows that Christian Conservatives would be willing to cross Party lines and vote Libertarian. However, if you consider the libertarian parties Presidential Nominee and his voting record you can easily see why they would be willing to vote for Bob Barr.
Barr has long been precieved as Pro-Life. He also seems to harbor some of the Conservatives Values considering the Second Amendment. As far as Huckabee supporters go, many fell in love with the fair tax idea that Huckabee was touting. Now it seems Barr may be able to tap into those people that so desperately wanted the IRS abolished. Unless Huckabee is put on the Republican Ticket as a VP, it appears many of his supporters will be supporting Bob Barr come this election. The Gop abondoning the party base this year may have just created the perfect enviroment for the Libertarian Party.
