An accident can cause different kinds of injuries. Injuries can be both mental as well as physical. However while you are pursuing your personal injury claim, it is important to know that damages caused are divided into two broad categories:

     General damages
     Special damages

When starting your claim, you need personal injury claim advice from a Compclaim personal injury solicitor. A personal injury solicitor will be able to guide you on the amount of compensation you can expect to receive in different kind of damages. Remember the accident was yours and so should the compensation you receive. Never enter into an agreement where you have part of your damages deducted.

A Personal Injury Solicitor will advise you on the amount you could expect to receive in each particular situation. This is done by referring to awards that the Courts have made for similar injuries in the past (known as precedents), and by referring to "The Judicial Studies Board Guidelines".
Our personal injury solicitors assess the injuries you have suffered any losses incurred. Based on this calculation he can tell you the amount of compensation you are entitled to.
    For instance:
For Head Injuries, the compensation can be anything between £10,000 for a severely fractured jaw to £100,000 for moderately severe brain injuries.
On the other hand if you suffer an injury in the arms then you usually get about £3,500 to £10,000 depending upon the amount of damages.
This is the amount charged for simple breaks with little resulting disability or deformity. Again if the damages are extreme like loss of an arm below the shoulder then it would be a minimum of £72,500, while if someone had lost the whole hand can expect to receive approx. £50,000.
A person would get something around £10,000 or more for a badly crushed hand. Since the hand is an important functional organ of the body therefore even a minor injury can bring about a significant loss, like loss of job or giving up of favorite activities.
The amount of compensation relieved for your personal injury claim should meet all your expenditures that you incurred because of the accident. This includes your medical costs, travel expenditures, child care costs, and all other expenditures that you incurred due to your accident
