How many times have we turned on the television or read the newspaper only to see that there is another genocide or war taking place on foreign shores? Naturally, we all shrug it off. In the present system, we have no choice but to stand back and watch helplessly as humanity pisses on itself and perpetually compromises its own interest. The reason it harnesses no interest whatsoever is because to everyone better off in the world it has no consequence. Or does it?
The greatest tragedy of death is loss of potential. That single human being, no matter how low, no matter how regressive, could have cured cancer, could have done something great, something glorious. But no, he's lying dead in a ditch somewhere. Country A may defeat country B, but in the end, all humanity suffers from the lives lost in the wars and genocides of the planet. If a politician has cancer, and he starts a war that kills the very person who was in possession of the mindsets and paradigms to cure that very disease, who has he compromised? Himself. Ignorantly, yes, but it matters not. The consequences remain the same. In indirect terms, that's like the politician walking up to a man who can cure him and shooting him. Once again the flaws lay in the system. This is how humanity has brought itself up to think. Divided interest, them and us logic - this is how we destroy ourselves. It's exactly like the politics of nuclear weapons. We all know they have the power to obliterate all humankind, but if one side has it, then the other must have it, too. It is inevitable. To expect anything more without changing the very fabric of the system is to run around in an endless circle of misguided idealism.
Yet, sadly, no one yet has had the guts to change the system enough to make a difference. We can all help. We can all listen to the charity commercials and depart to some slum and educate discarded children. But as admirable as all this is, it will have only incremental consequences on the grand scale of things. The only way to eradicate the festering problems that cripple global society is in one holistic wave of change that modifies the very essence of the way humans view their interests. The job of toeing the car of righteous evolution should no longer be a labor left to the noble few. Those noble few should unite and organize themselves into an invincible unity of organized progress and set off into society to win converts to the human cause of mutual interest; to make people understand how this loss of potential is compromising their ability to evolve every day; how this loss of life is perpetually raping our opportunities and the opportunities of our children; how this desecration of human life is making our efforts to advance ourselves utterly devoid of any meaning or reward.
This fundamental misconception of human interest is the single cause of every conflict in humankind's history: the ignorant perceptions that a destitute system has force fed us since the day we were born. No blame can be leveled. For lack of a better term, this misconception can be called humanity's original sin and, for it, we are to be innately blamed. To eradicate this disease of divided interest is basis of the Neoist philosophy. There are other theories, yes, but they are all secondary next to this grand design. No theory or ideal will make any real progress as long as this system remains in control of our actions, and as long as we are forced to divide interest, we will remain isolated, small, and alone.
