    Temples in South India

    Meenakshi Temple
    It is one of the ancient Hindu temples in India located in Madurai town in the state of Tamil Nadu at the south banks of Vaigai River. The temple is dedicated of Goddess Parvati and her husband, Lord Shiva. It is supported by the 985 beautifully carved pillars and exhibits remarkable architectural beauty. The whole complex is divided into numbers of circles with high marble walls. It has four entrance gates in all four directions. Several Hindu festivals are also celebrated inside this complex attract lots of devotees.

    Rock Fort Temple
    According to the mythological facts the remarkable Rock Fort Temple was built in 7th century. The temple located at the top of Rock Fort in Trichy city in the state of Tamil Nadu and dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The complex displays wonderful architectural works of the medieval period. It is visited by the large numbers of saintly travelers every year. Due to its remarkable architecture the temple is managed by Archaeological department of Indian Government.

    Tirupati Temple
    It is one of the most popular Hindu temples located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on the seventh hills of Venkata Hill. The temple is dedicated to Sri Venkateswara. Regarded as the richest temples in India it attract about 30 to 40 millions devotees every year that make it the most visited religious shrine across the world. Vaikunta Ekadasi, Rama Navami, and Janmashtami festivals are celebrated with great zeal and pomp inside this temple complex.

    Badami Cave, Guruvayoor, Thousand Pillar and Lepakshi are the other worth visit Hindu temples located in southern region of the country.

    Beaches in South India

    Kovalam Beach
    It is the finest beach of India located in Kerala very close to the capital city, Trivandrum. The beach receives large numbers of vacations through out the year. It is a long and shallow water seashore and ideal for swimming, sunbathing, water sports and other adventures activities in surroundings. There are several luxury resorts located in vicinity of Kovalam beach, where travelers can also enjoy delicious sea foods and pleasing Ayurvedic massage therapies.



    Marina Beach
    Popular Marina Beach is the major attraction of Chennai located along the Bay of Bengal. It is the second longest beach in the world. The beach is well-known for sunset and sunrise views. About 15000 to 20000 people daily visit this scenic beach in summers.


    Kanyakumari Beach
    Located on the southern most tip of the country in the state of Tamil Nadu, Kanyakumari is beautiful seashore. The beach offers wonderful sunset and sunrise views. It is a multicolored sandy shore and provides great change from other beaches of the region. There are several interesting places are also located in vicinity of Kanyakumari shore. Kanyakumari Temple, Gandhi Memorial and Vivekanand Rock Memorial are the must watch of them.

    There are several other popular beaches located in southern part of the country. Mahabalipuram, Alleppey, Varkala and Malpe are the most popular of them.
